Today, we’re ecstatic to announce $11 million in Series B funding led by Scale Venture Partners, along with existing investors Relay Ventures and TiE Angels.

In 2009, we set out to develop a data stream network to make it easier for developers to build, deploy, and scale realtime apps. In the last 18 months, we’ve been able to grow our traffic by 200x. We’re now powering thousands of apps and stream at peaks over three million messages a second to over 100 million devices a month.

    So what now?

Well to start, we plan to use our funding to accelerate our growth internationally by beefing up our sales and marketing efforts. But more importantly, we’ll continue to roll out new additions to the PubNub Data Stream Network so you can create even more amazing realtime apps quickly (we’ve got some good stuff in the works).

We want to give a big thanks to our customers. Your feedback, support, and suggestions have helped us get to where we are today. We’d also like to thank the developer community across the globe, whether you toyed with PubNub in the sandbox tier, or fully scaled out an app to thousands of users.

Realtime is now a mainstream consumer expectation, but building and scaling realtime experiences is complex and expensive using traditional web architecture. We will to continue to change that.

We’re excited to see how you’ll use the PubNub Data Stream Network!
