Developers on RedHat’s OpenShift platform can add real-time functionality to their apps using the PubNub Data Stream Network.
OpenShift users will leverage the PubNub Data Stream Network through the “Polyglot” OpenShift Application Platform. In a couple steps, developers can integrate real-time Cloud Pub/Sub Messaging into their OpenShift app. The newly added real-time functionality includes:
-
Private Chat or User Notification: A user publishing a message to another user’s individual channel to be received on the user’s device.
-
Group Chat or Device(s) Sync : A user (or server) publishing a message to a shared channel to be received by all subscribed users (or devices).
-
Global Broadcast: a server publishing a message to a globally shared channel to be received by all subscribed users (or devices).
OpenShift, Red Hat’s Platform as a Service, takes productivity and deliverability of web apps to the next level by taking care of all the infrastructure, middleware, and management, thereby allowing developers to focus on what they do best: designing and coding the application logic. OpenShift’s autoscaling platform helps developers easily manage the app programming stack so they can focus on coding.
Similarly, PubNub extends the stack while helping developers stay productive ensuring worry free scalability without needing ops teams or realtime architects. PubNub Data Stream Network supports SDKs implementing its easy to use API on popular devices and coding environments including iOS, Android, JavaScript, Python, Ruby/Rails, C# and a multitude of frameworks and programming languages.
