There are a few more aspects of the PubNub architecture that may prove useful to know:

Stream Filter: subscribers are able to filter which messages are returned to them, based on metadata included in the published messages
Message Queue: each PubNub instance has its own in-memory message queue that holds on to the most recent 100 published messages across all subscribed channels
Catch-Up: if a subscriber temporarily loses internet connection, they will automatically receive any messages missed as soon as they regain network connectivity
